Terms of Service
Effective date: October 10, 2026 (revised)
Also available: 한국어 · EN · 日本語 · 中文 · ES
1. About the Service
Jjan (the "Service") is a mobile app (iOS and Android) that helps you log your drinks, see a personalized estimate of your intoxication, and manage your condition. The Service is provided by its developer (the "Operator"). By installing and using the app, you agree to these Terms.
2. Eligibility
The Service is only for people who are at or above the legal drinking age in their country of residence.
3. Account
- Using the Service requires an account: Sign in with Apple in the iOS app, or Sign in with Google in the Android app.
- Your history is stored on your device and in your own cloud storage (iOS: your private iCloud storage; Android: your Google Drive app-data folder), and the Operator cannot access it. For details, see the Privacy Policy.
- You can delete your account at any time from the account screen in the app (Profile > Account > Delete account); deletion permanently erases your records and cloud backup. For details, including how to delete without the app, see the account deletion page.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
- Some features are offered as a paid subscription or one-time purchase (Premium). Payments are processed by the store you downloaded the app from — Apple App Store for the iOS app, Google Play Billing for the Android app.
- Billing, auto-renewal, and refunds follow that store's policies. You can request a refund through Apple (App Store) or Google Play, and you can also contact the Operator.
- To cancel a subscription: on iOS, Settings > your name > Subscriptions; on Android, Google Play Store app > profile > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions. After cancelling, you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
- Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a subscription — you must cancel it separately in the App Store or Google Play.
5. Important — Limits of the Estimates (Please Read)
- The intoxication estimates (the "light") and reports provided by the Service are for reference only and are not medical diagnosis or advice.
- Estimates are based on a statistical model and may differ from your actual condition. They must never be used for safety or legal decisions, such as whether you are fit to drive.
- If you have health concerns related to drinking, consult a medical professional.
6. Your Responsibilities
You must not use the Service to violate the law, infringe on the rights of others, or interfere with the normal operation of the Service. Use the Escape (call/text) feature only to manage your own situation.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Operator does not guarantee the accuracy of the estimates or uninterrupted availability of the Service, and is not liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
8. Changes to These Terms
These Terms may change when necessary; we will announce material changes via an in-app notice or by updating this page. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you agree to the updated Terms.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
